I’ve had these blown up to 20x20 exhibition size and the quality is spot on. The scan quality for a 6圆 or 6x4/5 meg is exceptional producing tiff files of around 160mb. However I’m a fine art and landscape photographer so speed and high out put is not essential as I’m often working with just a few frames at a time so the V800 is more than up to the job and will save you a couple of hundred pounds.īoth the Epson and Silver Fast 8 software are very good though the Silver fast takes a bit of getting use to. If you have a high work output the V850 is probably the way to go with it’s two sets of film holders and marginally faster scan times. The V850 offers all the whistle and bells but at a price. Plus you often only want one or two frames not the whole film. This can be very costly if you have them done by your processing lab £25+ per roll of 120 film. As a professional photographer I demand high res scans. I’d been thinking for a long time about weather to get the V800 or V850. Amazing scanner give professional quality at affordable price.
